Sarah Beim

Sarah Beim is a freelance assistant film editor and film editor who has worked on a wide variety of projects across formats and genres. 

 

Sarah is also the owner of Beim-ish Productions LLC, a solely run independent non-union production company. Our mission with this company is to give the underrepresented a voice and a safe space for those who feel they need one. As a queer, Jewish, female filmmaker, Sarah understands how it feels to be misrepresented in media and wants to change that. 

 

Beim-ish Productions is home to 4 short films, 2 of which are under the main company. “cataclysm.begins: The Catalyst” (2025), a proof-of-concept for an upcoming LGBTQIA+ Dystopian series, premiered at the Big Apple Film Festival during the 2025 festival circuit. “Entangled” (2024), a supernatural thriller, finished its festival run with 5 acceptances, 2 nominations, and is now streaming on LesFlicks.com. Under a sub-company, Film Nerd Challenges (FNC), a new weekend film challenge which ran a couple of film test shoots and will open in 2026. “t-day” (2025), a dystopian; Judgement Day meets the Purge, is currently in festivals with 9 acceptances, 5 nominations, and 1 runner-up win from Brightside Film Festival for Best Horror/Thriller short. FNC’s newest short film, “Wham!” (2025), a dark comedy inspired by Netflix’s series “You,” is currently in the festival circuit for 2026. 

 

As a freelance assistant film editor, film editor, and DIT, Sarah has had the opportunity to work on incredible projects for notable clients. She collaborated with award-winning filmmaker Desiree Abeyta’s short films "Beyond the Fog" (2024), which featured actress Paige Davis, and "Anne" (2023), which won a handful of awards, including a Silver Telly and was qualified in the FYC “Best Live Action Short” for the 2023 Academy Awards.

 

Sarah’s skills are very diverse, and she has a meticulous eye for detail. Some examples are a keen eye for continuity and pacing. She’s trained in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop, and is very dedicated to every project (big or small). She has loved storytelling ever since she was little and has always been fascinated by dreams, sci-fi, and dystopian themes. These genres inspired her to create her own unique worlds. Real-world issues inspire much of Sarah’s work, but with a twist: as a way to escape while still shedding light on issues that need to be addressed.
